PHILIP BROWNLEE

Philip Brownlee was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1971. He studied first at the University of Auckland, and later completed a Masters degree at Victoria University of Wellington. As a composer, he works with both instrumental and electroacoustic resources. He is a member of the sonic art collective Amalgam, who have staged several successful new music performances in Wellington. He is undertaking doctoral study at Victoria University, examining the transference of techniques between electroacoustic and instrumental musics.
